Clive Else
Chief Executive

Clive joined Avis Rent a Car in 2006 as Finance Director, and later transferred to Avis Fleet Services in 2008. This followed his qualification as a chartered accountant and assignments at motor manufacturers BMW SA and Nissan SA.

Between 2003 and 2008 Clive spent time with Toyota in Saudi Arabia and was also Acting CFO of South African Airways during its restructuring in 2007/8. He returned to Avis Fleet Services as Chief Executive in 2009.

 

Albert Geldenhuys
Executive: Commercial

Albert was employed by PPC Cement in 1996, at the time a subsidiary of Barloworld Limited. After PPC left the Barloworld group, Albert was deployed to AFS in the capacity of Group Financial Manager in 2005. Within a short space of time he was promoted to Chief Financial Officer where he managed the Finance portfolio during 5 years of excellent growth and expansion. In March 2010 Albert was appointed to the position of Executive: Commercial. This role encompasses Strategy Development and Implementation, Risk and the management and development of existing leasing operations in Botswana and Moçambique.

 

Candice Watson
Managing Executive: Human Resources

Candice joined Avis Fleet services in 2009 in the role of Human Resources Executive. Her experience in the field of Human Resource Management follows the successful completion of the Graduate Development Programme of ABI, The Soft Drinks Division of SAB Ltd. Previous roles in this field have been as an HR generalist and in Organisational Health within both the Financial and FMCG sectors. She is currently responsible for HR strategy formulation & implementation within the relevant legislative frameworks for the company’s operations in South Africa, Lesotho, Namibia, Botswana & Mozambique. She holds an Honours degree in Psychology (RAU); Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (GIBS) and a Masters in Business Administration (UP) from the Gordon Institute of Business Science.

 

Edward Enslin
Managing Executive: Sales and Marketing

Edward joined the Avis Fleet Services team in 2007, and within a very short space of time has added his strong sales and high customer service ethic to the many attributes already offered by the Company. Previous experience with companies such as Toyota SA, as well as Volkswagen of South Africa has guaranteed a wealth of knowledge and strong service synergy from within the motor vehicle industry. Edward occupied extensive Sales portfolios at Toyota SA including the National positions of VW Mastercars; Corporate Sales and Special Markets; and National Dealer Sales responsibilities at Volkswagen SA. More recently, Edward successfully completed the Barloworld Executive Development Programme in Spain and has guided Avis Fleet Services to being acknowledged as South Africa’s leading Fleet Management Company for the past four successive years.

 

Francois Viljoen
Managing Executive: Regional Countries and Enterprises

Francois has been employed by Avis Fleet Services for the past 26 years and has occupied various senior management positions. He has been instrumental in the setting up of most of the Avis Fleet Services computer systems and recently with the successful tendering of the Avis Fleet Services business in Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia and SA National Parks under Vuswa Fleet Services. The success of Avis Fleet Services in the Southern Africa Region can be attributed to his leadership and extensive experience in the leasing industry. Francois is currently concentrating on the development and growth of Avis Fleet Services into West Africa.

 

Michelle Erasmus
Chief Financial Officer 
 

Michelle joined Avis Fleet Services in February 2010 as Chief Financial Officer. She is a qualified chartered accountant, and was previously an audit partner at Deloitte, where she was employed for 12 years. Michelle and her team are responsible for monthly financial reporting, customer billing, supplier payment and cash and funding management. Michelle’s financial accounting knowledge and experience, gained during her years in the profession, have contributed to her success in her current role.

 

Soekie Jacobs
Managing Executive: FAM and Masterdrive

After spending 20 years in the short-term insurance industry, Soekie joined Avis Fleet Services in 2005. At the time of joining, Fleet Accident Management handled ZAR 3.6 million of claims per annum. Under Soekie’s direction the value of claims managed has increased more than thirty-fold to ZAR 100 million. Soekie and her dedicated team of claims specialist, technicians, handlers and administrators in Fleet Accident Management now manage 30,000 vehicles under a combination of claims management and roadside assistance products.

 

Tony Jenkins
Managing Executive: Operations

Following a technical career at Toyota South Africa, Tony moved into the Fleet Leasing Industry. He joined AFS in 1995 in the capacity of General Manager Technical Operations and Administration, and in 2007 was promoted to his current position. Tony has been instrumental in both the day-to-day management of our fleet of nearly 200,000 vehicles as well as the successful implementation of many system enhancements and large tenders that AFS has been awarded.

 

Vijay Jugnarain
Executive : IT Development 
 

Vijay joined Avis Fleet Services in 1991. He has been instrumental with the development of an integrated Avis Fleet Management System which encompasses Oracle applications; i-series applications; Document Management Solutions; Business Intelligence; Salesforce and Web applications. During his time at Avis, Vijay was also responsible for the Avis Rent a Car systems for a period of three years during the period when the Point to Point system was developed. Vijay has over the years acquired extensive knowledge of the motor and fleet management industry.
